CPC seals fuel station alleged to be mixing kerosene with diesel

Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) yesterday sealed a petrol station at Nawala for pumping Kerosene in to bowsers which is an illegal act. 

The Minister of Petroleum Resources Development said raiding unit found that bulk of Kerosene was about to deliver to a factory or to another place. The fuel station was sealed pending further  investigations.

Minister Arjuna Ranatunga said CPC will take appropriate action of the fuel station was found guilty. 

“I won’t forgive anyone who has engaged in mixing kerosene with diesel,” Ranatunga added. 

He stated that under the authority of the CPC, it will take action to cancel the license of the fuel bowsers and the fuel station.

“We have received several complaints regarding the mixing of kerosene with diesel. Price of the 1 litre of kerosene is low. Therefore fraudulent people are mixing kerosene with diesel to obtain a high income.
