The latest Diesel & Motor Engineering PLC (DIMO) offering – Mercedes-Benz A-Class sedan, premiered in Sri Lanka on 21 and 22 September, at the Taste of Europe, European food festival. The event took place at the Arcade Independence Square with DIMO featured as its main sponsor. 

Speaking on the new A-Class Sedan and the brands association with the European Food Festival, DIMO Mercedes-Benz General Manager Rajeev Pandithage said, “DIMO was delighted to come on board as the main sponsor of the harmonious Taste of Europe food festival.  

With the Mercedes-Benz brand strongly synonymous with European luxury and culture, it is absolutely fitting that we presented the first looks at the new Mercedes-Benz A-Class at the event. 

“The premier of the A-Class heralds a new generation of sedans for the brand, incorporating MBUX Infotainment system along with a host of other Modern high-tech features in clear pitch to millennial luxury buyers. We would like to sincerely thank all our customers who have expressed interest and dropped by the European Food Festival to get an exclusive first look at the new A-Class Sedan. We have been overwhelmed with interest and are delighted that introduction of the new A-Class Sedan has been such a success.”  

Featuring a 1.4 litre turbocharged engine, with 163 horsepower and 7 Speed Automatic Transmission, the new A-Class Sedan is packed with the latest modern luxury features Mercedes-Benz has to offer such as Burmester sound system, wireless phone charging dock, etc. The sedan also boasts a high level of safety, incorporating seven airbags, state-of-the-art driving assistance and safety systems with Mercedes engineering and strenuous quality testing. 

Packed with other key Mercedes features, the A-Class incorporates keyless go-handsfree access, panoramic sliding sunroof, memory seats, semi-automatic driving assistance and LED headlamps with integrated LED daytime running lamps. 

The sedan is also at the top of its class in rear headroom and has the lowest aerodynamic drag of all production vehicles worldwide.

In addition to the premier of the new A-Class Sedan – which was the highlight of the event – the Taste of Europe European food festival was designed to exude sophistication. Boasting black marquees and tents and incorporating a signature German style experience, the festival featured celebrity and influencer Stephanie Siriwardhana, who were massive attractions with hordes of fans who were delighted to spend time and be photographed with them. 

They were seen taking a closer look at the A-Class Sedan and taking photographs with the cars on display. 

The surrounding of the vehicles on display was amplified with neon light streaks and electro music on both nights, left the crowd in attendance in a state of awe.
