The annual Japanese Fair will be held for the third time on Sunday 11 February at Waters Edge, Battaramulla from 4 p.m. onwards. The event will be presented by Waters Edge in partnership with the Embassy of Japan in Sri Lanka.

Japanese culture loving groups in the fields of Ikebana (flower arrangement), Bonsai (miniature tree growing), Origami (paper folding), Aikido (modern Japanese martial art), Kyudo (traditional Japanese archery), Sumo (traditional Japanese wrestling) and Japanese Cos-Play (dressing in animation characters) will be showcasing their activities through various workshops and demonstrations. Delightful food stalls including Japanese delicacy will please the visitors.

Furthermore, Japanese traditional ‘Taiko’ drum troupe Fukazawa-Gumi is invited to Sri Lanka by the Embassy of Japan to perform at the Japanese Fair. The Japanese National Tourism Organization (JNTO) will also participate at the event to conduct travel promotion with some entertainment.

The picturesque fields at Battaramulla will provide a wonderful venue for this event, which is open to public with free entrance.
