  • Presidential Task Force on Sri Lanka’s Education Affairs and the Ministry of Higher Education, Technology, and Innovations extends support for the event from 18 to 20 August

‘Business Beyond COVID Summit 2020’ scheduled for 18 to 20 August is the latest initiative under the ‘MASTERS’ platform which guides towards growth through insights while exploring new disruptive business models.

Business Beyond COVID Summit is organised to align with President Gotabaya Rajapaksa’s vision of making 2021-2030 the Decade of Skills Development in Sri Lanka, that heralds transformational phase of educational reform and skills development for the nation, in line with the Government’s national policy framework, ‘Vistas of Prosperity and Splendour’. The action plan for the Decade of Skills Development focuses on cultivating the next generation’s skills in line with global trends and the 2030 Global Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Business Beyond COVID Summit is a landmark event as it brings world-class educators subject matter experts on one stage to share innovative insights and techniques to help business leaders to navigate in the post-pandemic world. More importantly, as President Rajapaksa’s vision as 2021-2030 Decade of Skills Development focusing on cultivating the next generation’s skills in line with global trends, this event would further highlight Sri Lanka’s commitment for global insights in a time of a global health crisis.

As the event is virtual, the international business community has already shown great interest to take part in the summit, where we could advertise Sri Lanka as a next knowledge hub with key messaging.

As Sri Lanka is planning to become a knowledge hub in Asia the event would highlight Sri Lanka’s commitment to learning and insights. Right now, every organisation – whether it’s an essential business working through the pandemic or a company looking to resume regular business operations – is confronting new realities.

Consumer demands are shifting, businesses will need to be redesigned to support a mix of office and remote workers and some companies may have to pivot radically to stay afloat. Getting back to business will require ingenuity and innovation. The Business Beyond COVID Summit would be an ideal platform for decision-makers across Asia to listen to world-class subject matter experts, thought leaders and educators obtain insights to navigate post COVID business challenges.

An eminent panel of speakers representing the world’s leading organisations as well as the world’s best educational institutions will attract over 1000 decision-makers across Asia to the event. The event would be highlighted across digital channels making it possible to attend wherever in the world. The summit would be one of the largest virtual business summits in Asia with a high calibre of international speakers speaking at one stage.

The summit will meet its ultimate goal in facilitating digital-first learning interventions designed around most current and impactful business insights focused on practicality. It’ll set out an environment that provides youth and local entrepreneurs with new opportunities, gives everyone new hope and a sense of pride, where people can use their skills, talents and business acumen to be the world leaders in any field of their choice.

BBC Summit will stand as a roadmap which features multiple education pathways to encourage lifelong learning and ensure that no one is left behind throughout the transformational phase of business development in the post-COVID world.
