The newest model of Food Studio’s unique food court concept opened at the One Galle Face mall yesterday.

The new model mixes the traditional food court experience featuring some of the most popular eateries from Sri Lanka and around the world, with modern deconstructivist architecture designed to showcase the famous streets of Singapore, utilising interior décor and murals that highlight its cultural artefacts. The eclectic set of cuisines will consist of Indian, Indonesian, Turkish, German, Singaporean, Thai, Chinese, Japanese, Western and Sri Lankan to name a few.

Dindigul Thalappakatti Restaurant (South Indian), Jeewas (Sri Lankan), The Mango Tree (North Indian), Sumatran Spice (Indonesian), Twister (Turkish & German), Shiok (Singaporean), Cheese Heads (Western Fusion), Suksamran Thai (Thai), Tokyo Shokudo (Japanese), China Express and Mama’s Kitchen (Chinese) are all featured at the food court.

Food Studio will introduce ‘ETC.’ at the new location – a casual café-dessert bar owned by Food Studio which will serve up everything from michellin-inspired desserts, gelato to tea, coffee, soft drinks and fresh juices. Located at the lower ground floor of the One Galle Face Mall, the food atrium will provide Sri Lankans the opportunity to explore the unique, rich, authentic flavors that all these restaurants will be offering.

Food Studio, the brand operating and managing the OGF Food Court, is an innovative food court concept founded and launched by Lim Tai Toon, a Singaporean who was an early founding director of Food Republic, an internationally-renowned restaurant chain that hosts numerous restaurants and food courts across the Asian region. During its one year of operations in Sri Lanka, Food Studio also launched and currently operates the Food Court at the Colombo City Centre.

“Food Studio features emerging restaurants – all handpicked by us to create a holistic and popular hangout for the community,” said Lim. “Our latest outlet at the One Galle Face Mall is an example of the types of concepts and ideas we’re creating every day. Our objective is to redefine the culinary experience in a shopping center food court, which has already made Food Studio a pioneer in the Colombo food scene,” he added. “We are proud at the progress we have made in the industry within a span of one year and are humbled to be launching as an anchor tenant into the largest international mall in Sri Lanka.”

Food Studio will be open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily at the Lower Ground Floor, One Galle Face mall. For more information visit https://www.facebook.com/FoodStudioSL/.
