Sampath Bank, the growing force in Sri Lanka’s financial services, recently appeared in the 15th annual edition of the Most Respected – a survey and publication commissioned and conceptualized by LMD and conducted by Nielsen. Sampath Bank was named to be among the top 10 most respected entities in Sri Lanka, making it to the Most Respected Hall of Fame for 2019.

The 15th annual edition of the Most Respected entities ranked the nation’s most admired corporations, based on the perceptions of respondents – and to evaluate why they’re perceived as such. The index was formulated through a combination of critical key performance indicators.

The method of ranking entities was revised for 2019 to ensure a better discrimination of the nominated entities. Therefore, the former method where the rankings were derived on the basis of the Olympic Ranking System (Rank 1 – Gold; Rank 2 – Silver; Rank 3 – Bronze) was  replaced by a weighted ranking system whereby the first mention is assigned a weight of five, the second a weight of three and the third a weight of one. The final rankings are based on the sum of weighted scores of the entities. Sampath Bank was awarded a total score of 222, positioning them as the eighth most respected entity in Sri Lanka.

Speaking about this achievement Managing Director Nanda Fernando said: “Right from our inception, we at Sampath Bank have been committed to delivering greater value to all our stakeholders. With a focus on customer centric innovation, we have been able to significantly contribute to the economy. Additionally, one of our core values have always been to add value to the environment and the people; this includes our employees, customers and the communities that we operate in. As our position among the Most Respected has improved in comparison to 2018, I am proud to say that our efforts as a team are paying off and we are most honored to see them being recognised.”

Established in 1987, Sampath Bank has become a state-of-the-art financial institution that continues to be a market leader today thanks to its constant innovation and customer focused approach to business. Its unique tailor-made solutions, superior services and convenience of access have allowed Sampath Bank to further differentiate itself from the competition and stand out as the bank of choice for many in Sri Lanka.
