Amãna Bank has introduced the convenience of Online Account Opening to facilitate its customers with an easy and time saving method of opening an account without going through the hassle of writing on forms.

Introduced as a part of the bank’s digitisation strategy, the Online Account Opening platform is accessible on the bank’s website www.amanabank.lk,which allows potential customers to seamlessly open General Savings Accounts, Ladies Savings Accounts and Senior Citizen Savings Accounts without compromising customer privacy as well as other regulatory requirements. As the customer can conveniently access the online account opening platform at the comfort of their home or office at any time of the day, customers can reduce their waiting time at the branch. Customers choosing the Online Account Opening option are not required to submit their NIC or address verification and billing proof documents over the counter as they will be able to easily upload such documents on the online platform. Once the customer successfully submits the online form, they even have the option of requesting a branch officer to visit the customer for signature and verification.

Commenting on this initiative, the bank’s Vice President – Retail Banking and Marketing Siddeeque Akbar said, “We are pleased to introduce the convenience of online account opening, where at the click of a few buttons, a customer can initiate the account opening process, irrespective of where he or she is. I am confident that our customers will enjoy and appreciate this timely and convenient initiative.”

Amãna Bank’s Online Account Opening platform can be accessed by visiting the bank’s website www.amanabank.lk. The bank plans to expand its online platform to open other accounts offered by the bank as well.

Amãna Bank is the country’s first Licensed Commercial Bank to operate in complete harmony with the globally growing non-interest based banking model. With the mission of Enabling Growth and Enriching Lives, the bank reaches out to its customers through a growing network of 28 branches and 3800+ ATM access points and has introduced an array of customer conveniences such as Internet and Mobile Banking, Debit Card with SMS alerts, Saturday Banking, Extended Banking Hours, 24x7 Cash Deposit Machines and Banking Units Exclusively for Ladies.

Fitch Ratings, in October 2016, affirmed the bank’s National Long Term Rating of BB(lka) with a Stable Outlook. The bank was recognised as the Best ‘Up-and-Comer’ Islamic Bank of the World by ‘Global Finance Magazine’ at the 18th Annual World’s Best Banks Award Ceremony held in Washington DC, USA.
