APU Malaysia signs up to use Forestpin Analytics to enhance students’ learning experiences

1500Rimbun Forensic Advisory Sdn Bhd the partners representing Foresptin in Malaysia signed the MOA with APU to enhance the undergraduate and post graduate learning experiences on Forensic Accounting software. Forestpin Analytics is a Sri Lankan software used by large corporates in Sri Lanka like John Keells Holdings, Hemas Holdings and MAS Intimates to reduce operational risk. 

Forestpin compares new transactions such as purchase orders, payments, sales receipts with past transactions patterns using mathematical and statistical models to provide alerts and analytics on suspicious transactions. These often result in data entry corrections and process improvements.  Machine learning is used to enhance the relevance of alerts.  The software has been cited in a presentation at the American Accounting Association annual conference.

On a news release by APIIT Group Corporate Communications states, “As part of the MOA, students who are under Forensic Accounting-related programs will have access to the Forestpin Analytics software, an analytics software that is able to pick up discrepancies in data, which aids in better and simpler forensic investigations. This software will provide an experiential learning experience for the students, and they will better understand the basic operations of the Forensic Accounting industry and they will be able to possess knowledge in using industry-compatible tools and software to apply their skills in the relevant field. In addition, under the MOA, Rimbun Forensic Advisory will explore further areas of collaboration, including research in the forensic computing field.”
