RS Steel Company’s Indian Hindu workers hosts ‘Wishwakarma Puja’

RS Steel being the leading steel wire manufacturing company in Sri Lanka produces RS QST RB 500 steel wires. Hindu workers of an Indian origin employed at RS Steel Company recently organised a ‘Wishwakarma Puja’ to be held at the company premises to bless the company and its workers.

The event (Puja) that was held with the fullest blessings of RS Steel Chairman Dr. Ramesh Shivalingam was coordinated and organised by RS Steel Foreman Tharun Kumar Singh, Production Manager Dinesh Kumar Singh and Factory Supervisor and Senior Officer Suresh Kumar Patel. 

Veteran Hindu priests of the Hindu Kovils in our country performed the Puja and RS Steel management and the staff participated. 

‘Wishwakarma Puja’ is performed to honour the God Wishwakarma who is believed by the Hindus to be the God of building constructions and architecture. He is the personification of ultimate reality and deity of the creative power. He is considered to be the architect/divine engineer of the universe according to Rigveda.

Hindu scriptures describe many of Wishwakarma’s architectural accomplishments. He had built several towns and temples for the gods and had created the ‘Dwarka’ city ruled by the God Krishna. Wishwakarma also had designed exclusive weapons for the gods in the federation. 

RS Steel Finance Manager Vishwanath Balaji speaking of the Wishwakarma Puja organised by the Indian workers said: “We have many Indian workers at RS Steel whose religion is Hindu. This Wishwakarma Puja was organised by them. Wishwakarma Puja is performed to honour the God Wishwakarma who is believed by the Hindus to be the God of building constructions and architecture.”He added: “Our Indian workers did this Puja to offer blessings to our company which is in the construction sphere and all of its workers. The Puja will also bequeath blessings upon all construction works in the country.”

The RS Steel Company’s product RS QST RB 500 steel wire is made to international standards with the best quality imported iron billets with latest technology and chemicals to add extra strength. The Sri Lanka Standard Institute awarded SLS 375:2009 standard certificate to RS QST RB 500 steel wire in 2015.
