The need for moulding future citizens of Sri Lanka into responsible young leaders of the next generation was identified by the Sisu Dirimaga Initiative. This objective resulted in conducting of three-hour motivational sessions targeting the emerging youth, especially the GCE Ordinary Level and Advanced Level students in schools. The programs were enriched with personal motivation, techniques to face exams as well as career guidance and also guidance of their parents in reshaping their future.

The student training programs were conducted in five leading schools in the Southern Province: Arafa Central College – Weligama, Muslim Maha Vidyalaya – Kirinda, Minhath National School – Dickwella, Iqra Muslim Maha Vidyalaya – Bolana, and Al Akbar Muslim Maha Vidyalaya in Hambantota. The principals of these five schools were greatly instrumental in making the programs a resounding success.

Fashion Bug Director and Sisu Dirimaga Founder Shabier Subian believes that an optimistic approach into education and personal development lays the much needed foundation of society. “At Fashion Bug our goal is to empower every sector of our nation through our CSR initiatives and especially through the Sisu Dirimaga platform. Therefore it is our mission to supplement our youth with access to personal development and career development training programs. We believe our efforts will result in empowering future citizens of Sri Lanka with opportunity and especially with the ability to choose the right path for their chosen careers,” Subain said.

The training program was conducted using unique and diverse techniques and methods including short lectures, self-reflection, NLP techniques/self-talk/visualisation, self-assessment and psycho-metric tools, video presentations/case studies and group counselling techniques.
