Access Engineering commits to sustainable future, joins ‘Husma Dena Thuru’ tree planting program

Access Engineering PLC (AEL), the foremost civil engineering enterprise in Sri Lanka, is in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment and Central Environmental Authority to plant 100,000 trees covering all 25 districts in Sri Lanka. 

The project was initiated by the Ministry of Environment and Central Environmental Authority with the objective of increasing forest cover by 30% to promote GHG emissions reduction and to promote carbon neutral climate positive productions.

As the initiation of this CSR project, an MOU was signed between Ministry of Environment and Access Engineering PLC on 27 January at the Ministry of Environment, Battaramulla.

The event was held with the presence of Minister of Environment Mahinda Amaraweera, Ministry of Environment Secretary Dr. Anil Jasinghe, CEA Director General P.B. Hemantha Jayasinghe and AEL Chairman Sumal Perera, AEL Chief Operating Officer/Director Rohana Fernando and AEL Deputy General Manager Lagath Gamalathge. 

Many guests including members of Ministry of Environment and Central Environmental Authority and affiliates of Access Engineering PLC also participated at this event.  At Access Engineering PLC we aim to preserve the eco-system for the future while creating the legacy of tomorrow’s heritage. As a result we continuously engage in eco- friendly measures with the aim of trading-off the carbon footprint taking place due to the business operations while leveraging the innovative cutting-edge technologies in creating a sustainable tomorrow.
