NDB launches Toastmasters Club

NDB held its Charter installation ceremony of the newly formed NDB Toastmasters Club recently. NDB Toastmasters Club initiated with the objective of enhancing public speaking and leadership skills of the employees of the bank, joins the toastmaster fraternity comprising of 14,385 clubs in 124 countries and also became the seventh financial institution club in Sri Lanka. IHB students showcase their talent at graduation ceremony

The Institute of Hairdr-essers & Beauticians (IHB) in collaboration with Organisation Mondiale Coiffure (OMC), held its 2nd graduation ceremony, where 90 students including 12 overseas grandaunts in absentia received Diploma certificates issued with OMC accreditation for the 2012/2013 semesters. The graduates together with the Board of Governors of IHB and well wishers were hosted to a star-studded awards ceremony on 8 December 2013 at 5 p.m. in the Atrium Lobby of Cinnamon Grand Hotel. CDB gifts 57 new scholarships through Sisu Diri Season 6

Citizens Development Business Finance PLC (CDB) awarded scholarships to 57 children at the 6th Sisu Diri scholarship program held recently at the Tower Hall Theatre. Chief Guest at the ceremony was Save the Children Director International Child Safe Guarding Menaca Calyaneratne while CDB Chairman Herschel Gunawardena attended the event as the Guest of Honour. A host of other invitees including parents, Directors and senior management of CDB attended the presentation ceremony. Bank of Ceylon awards 93 scholarships to BOC 18 Plus account holders

Bank of Ceylon, Sri Lanka’s No. 1 Bank and Asia’s Best Brand, is empowering youth in the country through the awarding of scholarships to 93 undergraduates studying in state universities. BOC commenced this scholarship scheme in 2002 and has awarded scholarships worth over Rs. 24.5 million to nearly 850 18 Plus account holders. Out of the 93 undergraduates 20 were selected on a special merit basis. Those selected were the ones who got the highest marks in each of the four streams; science, mathematics, commerce and arts. Out of those 18 Plus account holders who had received the highest scoring, five were selected from each of the four streams. Each of these selected received a scholarship...
