Government institutions linked to 1919 increased

The ICT Agency of Sri Lanka (ICTA) says that information pertaining to 20 more Government institutions is scheduled to be provided to the public from next year through the Government Information Centre hotline (1919). ICTA said that by now information regarding about 2000 services of 300 Government institutions is provided through the Government Information Centre. The UAE’s largest telecoms operator, Etisalat, has begun initial talks with several international telecom operators, including India’s Bharti Airtel, over the potential sale of its Sri Lankan unit. A source close to Etisalat told Arabian Business that Airtel was one of several operators to approach the company. Reuters: Google Inc has asked the U.S. Supreme Court to wade into contentious litigation against Oracle Corp, arguing that the high court must act to protect innovation in high tech. Google’s request, filed on Monday, seeks to overturn an appeals court ruling that found Oracle could copyright parts of the Java programming language, which Google used to design its Android smartphone operating system.
