Mercantile Investments and Finance carries out CSR campaign
A campaign was launched by Mercantile Investments and Finance PLC to sterilize and vaccinate stray dogs and cats on 24 March in Moratuwa. With the rise in stray dog population and potentialfor them to carry rabies, the CSR committee of the company sought the expertise from the Blue Paw Trust an organisation that possesses qualified vets and modern equipment to handle a campaign professionally.
CDB’s state-of-the-art lab to nurture IT literacy in Welioya school
The students of the Welioya Ethawatunuwewa Vidyalaya in the Anuradhapura district were recently gifted with a much looked forward to IT lab and were connected to the worldwide web by Citizens Development Business Finance PLC (CDB) as part of its flagship CSR project – CDB Pariganaka Piyasa.
In consultation with the Ministry of Education, CDB dedicated this Rs. 1 million state-of-the-art IT lab to the school’s present and future generations at a simple ceremony presided over by CDB’s Executive Director/Chief Credit Officer Sasindra Munasinghe, senior officials of CDB, Principal N.W. Ramanayake, students, parents and well-wishers in Ethawatunuwewa.

Ceylinco Life funds house for war-hero
As the third-year commemoration of the end of the military conflict in Sri Lanka draws near, Ceylinco Life has paid tribute to the sacrifice of one gallant soldier by providing funds for the construction of a house for a war-hero who was disabled in the liberation effort.
With Rs. 1 million provided by the life insurance leader, a new house was constructed in Hevanapalassa in Nikaweratiya recently for Pte. R.D.C Sanadheera of the Gajaba regiment of Sri Lanka Army.

Cinnamon Lodge Habarana conducts medical camp
The team at Cinnamon Lodge Habarana in coordination with the projects and engineering team of Keells Hotel Management Services Limited organised a medical camp held at the Habarana Maha Vidyalaya which was a resounding success. The medical camp was conducted with the participation of a team of prominent consultant physicians of different disciplines. A team of nurses and pharmacists were also deployed by the Habarana hospital and from the medical regiment of the regional army quarters to assist the team of physicians. Pharmaceutical companies also joined in this effort by donating and sponsoring some of the medication that was offered at the camp.
