Ranala Model Junior School gets multipurpose hall from CBL Foods
Ceylon Biscuits Ltd.’s subsidiary company CBL Foods International Pvt. Ltd. officially opened the newly-built school hall of Ranala Model Junior School.
An outright donation by CBL Foods at a cost of Rs. 7 million, the multipurpose hall consists of meeting rooms, classrooms and a mini auditorium for student assemblies and performances. The school is in the vicinity of CBL Foods which is also situated in Ranala, Kaduwela and is an integral part of CBL’s community philanthropy.

Japanese volunteers support country’s development efforts at grass-root level
Three Japanese volunteers arrived in Sri Lanka recently with the aim of providing their expertise to improve and add value to activities carried out by various public institutions in the country. These volunteers are in Sri Lanka as a part of JICA’s ongoing Volunteer Dispatch Programme. The volunteers were introduced to their host organisations at an assigning ceremony held at the Department of External Resources on 1 February.
Hilton Colombo commences 25th anniversary celebrations with religious blessings

Invoking blessings on the hotel’s team and valued customers, the hotel held a pirith ceremony on 24 January, followed by an almsgiving to the temple and religious ceremonies for the Christian, Muslim and Hindu faiths on 25 January.
Team Cinnamon Lakeside restores St. Anne’s Church Paradise
Volunteers from Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo embarked on their second cultural restoration project recently. Having explored many options, the organizing committee for the project discovered St. Anne’s Church Paradise in Kuruwita in the Ratnapura District. The church sits on an acre wide property and receives little assistance from outside its immediate community.
