It is known for its varied flavours, colourful decoration and variety of spices and ingredients, most of which are native to the country. The cuisine of Mexico has evolved through thousands of years of blending indigenous cultures, later many European elements were added to suite the modern day diner after the 16th century. In November 2010, Mexican cuisine was added by UNESCO to its lists of the worlds “intangible cultural heritage”.
