So here is yet another Valentine’s Day around the corner. It’s time again for the colour red to be draped across all windows of shops, for the bright hearts to come out and for boys to rush to the florist and order the flowers and rush to wear the goodies are to order some of the mouth watering confectionaries on display. And of course the much famous Valentine’s Day dinners must be attended to. For most, these are three things that go under the ‘must do this February’ list if two consider themselves a couple.
Lamb for lovers
To make demi-glace: Heat 2 tablespoons olive oil in a medium skillet over medium heat, and add trimmings from lamb. Season with salt and pepper. Brown the fat, reduce heat, and add 4 cloves minced garlic, onion, carrots, celery leaves, port, red wine, and chicken broth. Transfer the mixture to a slow cooker, and simmer on Low 8 hours, or overnight.
