The boss of a multinational shoe company sent two sales persons to several countries on the African continent to assess the potential for selling shoes there.

Encouraging the reading habit

This is a story told in pictures of a free mobile library service. The place is Kiula, a village in the Deep South of Sri Lanka. Every Saturday afternoon, a three-wheeler (tuk-tuk) leaves our home with books. Nalaka, a young person living with us in the village, is its librarian.

Focus on the profession of tour guiding

Just this week Monday night, we met Richard. Richard is the English version of his Polish name Ryszard. Polish born, he works for an Austrian company based in Beijing, China. Richard is in Sri Lanka for two weeks, on an assignment to set-up a water purification project. We were strangers having dinner at a hotel in the Deep South. He was seated at the adjacent table all alone and we got chatting.

350 action on 10-10-10 in Kiula – Every drop counts

On the morning of 10-10-10, in the village of Kiula in the Deep South of Sri Lanka, we all gathered at the Temple Sunday School at 8 a.m. There were 150 children at the school.

Just this week, the US and UK Governments issued warnings for its citizens not to travel within Europe. Last month the Eiffel tower was closed for visitors for there was a threat of a terrorist attack.

Last week my column was about my recent experience in walking through casinos in Macau (SAR), China, and of the concept of integrated resorts. I shared with readers how integrated resorts were used to contain hundreds of thousands of people in a world of dreams, within an artificially-created environment.
