Seven Gold awards for Atlas Axillia

Atlas Axillia Ltd. swept the boards at the recent National Convention on Quality & Productivity (NCQP) Awards 2018, winning seven prestigious Gold awards three Silver awards and one Bronze award. 

At this illustrious event Atlas won five Gold, one Silver and one Bronze award for Quality Circle (QC) teams, and two Gold and one Silver award for Continuous Improvement (CI) teams and one Silver award in the Individual Kaizen Suggestion category.

The NCQP Awards are presented annually by the Sri Lanka Association for the Advancement of Quality and Productivity (SLAAQP). It is the only national convention in Sri Lanka that seeks to highlight the vital contribution made to corporate success by the non-executive tier of a company’s workforce. 

The event focuses on promoting quality and productivity among Sri Lankan organisations and selects teams from companies to represent Sri Lanka at the International Convention on Quality Control Circles (ICQCC) to be held in Singapore this year.

This year, the Chief Guest was Speaker Karu Jayasuriya, Karunarathna Paranawithana was the Guest of Honour and Prof. Ajantha Sujeewa Dharmasiri was the Keynote Speaker. 

“Winning 11 awards in total is a tremendous achievement and we are extremely proud of the progress made by our teams, demonstrating commitment and passion, which enabled us to reach such heights,” said Atlas Axillia Managing Director Asitha Samaraweera.

Atlas Axillia Chief Operating Officer – Production Viraj Jayasooriya attributed the company’s success to the robust mechanisms implemented and the high levels of engagement of the workforce.
