FITIS signs MoU with National Chamber

Federation of Information Technology Industry Sri Lanka (FITIS), as the apex body of the ICT sector in the country and the National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka have recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). Under this partnership, FITIS and NCCSL will promote collaborative projects and cooperate together in all of common interest. They are to jointly conduct digital forums and build greater collaborations between the two esteemed memberships to promote mutually beneficial and cooperation between various fields such as economy, environment, technology and culture. 

“We look forward to a strong partnership between the two organisations and our membership resulting in upliftment of the ICT infrastructures and tech know-how. It will help increase trade and investment opportunities for Sri Lanka,” stated NCCSL President Asela De Livera. 

FITIS Chairman Abbas Kamrudeen said, “ICT services are the fourth largest export earner in the country. We will continue to uplift the ICT industry in Sri Lanka through building platforms of expert consultations in view of encouraging and supporting the organisations to embrace digital initiatives.

Through the initiative the memberships also will enjoy concessionary rates for workshops organised by the respective organisations. The MoU contains detailed framework for mutual cooperation in view of supporting Sri Lankan companies in their efforts towards accelerating in digital transformation. 

The sign ceremony was held at the National Chamber of Commerce recently in the presence of members of the both bodies.
