The session titled ‘Turnaround; Shifting Gear from Slow to Fast Track’ which is to be held at Cinnamon Grand on 13 September from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Economic Summit 2018, will focus on game-changers for Sri Lanka. The session will explore the ways in which Sri Lanka’s future is shaping, and what institutional reforms will be required to create a shift in the economy from a slow to a fast track. Practical steps required for achieving Vision 2025 will be outlined with a discussion on both the role of the state and enterprises in the realisation of the overall vision.

State Minister of National Policies and economic Affairs Dr. Harsha De Silva will be the keynote speaker for this session. Thereafter, a panel discussion moderated by N-Able Ltd. Chief Executive Officer Peter D’Almeida will allow the participants at the summit the opportunity to identify some of the new game changers and draw out strategies for companies in shaping this shift to a fast track. The key for Sri Lanka is to be plugged into the opportunities and ensure that it does not fall behind in an evolving global market.

The panel will feature experts from Sri Lanka’s thrust areas moving forward: Ray Ren, Chief Representative, China Merchant Group in Sri Lanka, Hambantota International Port Group Ltd.; Liang Thow Ming, Chief Sales and Marketing Officer, CHEC Port City Colombo Ltd.; Jeevan Gnannam, Chief Executive of Orion City IT Park; and Shalin Balasuriya – Director and Co-Founder, Spa Ceylon – Luxury Ayurveda Spa, are the panellists who will be sharing their insights and leading the discussion at this session.
