CMA Sri Lanka President congratulates new IFAC President Prof. In-Ki Joo

CMA President Prof Lakshman R Watawala, of congratulates new International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) President for the period 2018 -2020, Prof. In-Ki Joo, at the Council Meeting held in Sydney, Australia, along with CMA Vice President Hennayake Bandara. CMA Sri Lanka are Members of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC).

 

 

The International Federation of Accountants (IFAC), the voice of the global accounting profession, is the global organisation for the accountancy profession, dedicated to serving the public interest by strengthening the profession and contributing to the development of strong international economies. IFAC is comprised of over 175 members and associates in more than 130 countries and jurisdictions, representing almost 3 million accountants in public practice, education, government service, industry, and commerce.

The President of CMA Sri Lanka and the delegation will attend the World Congress of Accountants, which will be held from 5-8 November at the International Convention Centre, Sydney, Australia, with an attendance of over 6000 participants. 

The conference is hosted by CA Australia and CPA Australia.  The other IFAC-recognised body is Institute of Public Accountants of Australia. These are the only three Professional Accounting Bodies recognised by the Government of Australia and IFAC, the global body for the accounting profession. 

CMA Sri Lanka will sign an MOU with CPA Australia during the World Congress, which will provide Associate Membership for fully qualified CMA Sri Lanka Management Accountants, who could thereafter sit for a few subjects to obtain professional membership.
