Amal Cabraal appointed Vice Chairman of Sunshine Holdings

Amal Cabraal has been appointed as the Vice Chairman of the Sunshine Holdings PLC with effect from 13 February.

He has been serving the Sunshine Board since May 2017 as an Independent Director. The post of Vice Chairman is new at Sunshine Holdings. 

Cabraal is presently the Chairman of Ceylon Beverage Holdings PLC, Lion Brewery (Ceylon) PLC, CIC Feeds Group, and Silvermill Investment Holdings Ltd. He is a former Chairman and CEO of Unilever Sri Lanka and has over three decades of business experience in general management, marketing, and sales in Sri Lanka and overseas. 

He is also a Non-Executive Director of John Keells Holdings, Hatton National Bank, and an advisor to a number of leading companies. He is a member of the Monetary Policy Consultative Committee of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka. 

He is also a committee member of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce and serves on the Management Committee of the Mercantile Services Provident Society. A marketer by profession and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing – UK, he holds an MBA from the University of Colombo and is an executive education alumnus of INSEAD, France.

With the change, the Board of Directors of Sunshine Holdings comprises of Chairman M. Shaikh, Vice Chairman A. Cabraal, Group Managing Director V. Govindasamy, S. Ratwatte, H.D. Abeywickrama, A.D.B. Talwatte, S. Shishoo, G. Sathavivam, Y. Kitao and S.G. Sathasivam.
