Sri Lanka records 1 COVID-19 death

One novel coronavirus (COVID-19) related death was recorded in the country today (28 March).

The deceased was identified as 60-year-old man from Marawila.

He had medical complications arising from a kidney transplant and suffered from diabetics, DG Health Services Dr. Anil Jasinghe said in a statement.

Earlier today four new cases of COVID-19 were reported, increasing the number of active patients to 101, according to Health Promotion Bureau.

Additionally, 199 persons are currently in hospitals suspected of COVID-19.

To date Sri Lanka has recorded 110 COVID-19 cases, of which nine recovered and were discharged. No deaths were recorded until today.
