1500 Suresh de Silva is (in)famously known as the eccentric and articulate frontman/vocalist/lyricist of Sri Lanka’s premier Heavy Metal act Stigmata. He has been a compulsive creative writer for nearly two decades. With ample experience as a Creative Writer and Brand Consultant, he is the Head of Creative, Design and Production at Q and E Advertising.

Suresh has built a name for himself as a Social Media Author (have you read his statuses?), an Actor (playing the lead of Judas in Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s opera “Jesus Christ Superstar” staged by the Workshop Players), a musical collaborator (having worked with classical baritone Sanjeev Niles on the mega Cinefest USA video award nominated track “Cadence of Tears (Freedom’s Chains), an event coordinator (anyone in the region’s Rock circles will concur) and a keen acquirer of injured and destitute cats and dogs.

Suresh will finally launch his first book, ‘From Chaos to Catharsis,’ a collection of writing and literary works comprising of a series of Poetry, Prose, Rants and Social Media Statuses also including a riveting (and very disturbing) work of Short Fiction.

‘From Chaos to Catharsis’ will be launched in an intimate setting on Friday 4 August at The Barefoot Gallery and Café at 7 p.m. It’s open to the public and is a walk-in event where the books will be sold independently for a special fee at the launch.

The book launch starting at 7 p.m. will feature a stellar cast of personalities reading selective creative works from the collection, namely icons like Jerome L. de Silva, the Warden of S. Thomas’ College Warden Reverend Marc Billimoria, Michelle Herft, Shanuki de Alwis, Chevaan Daniel, Shehan Karunatilaka, Yudhanjaya Wijeratne and Dr. Suneth Rajawasan.

The Official Cover Artwork was illustrated and designed by Madhri Samaranayake while the editing was done by Devika Brendon. De Silva acknowledges that this endeavour would not be possible without the support of Tharaka Uduwara, Andreene Balthazar Perera, Irani Kannangara, Tennyson Napolean, Shanaz Fouze, Print Point Ltd. and everyone at Q & E.

The Official Event Partners for ‘From Chaos to Catharsis’ are Barefoot, ART Television, TNL Radio and Decibel.lk.

Therefore if you are an avid reader, someone from creative circles and appreciates the blossoming movement of new English literature writers do head over to Barefoot on Friday 4 August and have yourself an experience that will either leave you feeling chaotic or cathartic!
