Several development projects in the Northern Province were vested with the people recently.

Attending the ceremony held to mark the event, which was held under the patronage of President Maithripala Sirisena, Minister of Provincial Councils and Local Government Faiszer Musthapha said:

“The physical resources of a country can strongly be established through development projects and a massive social contribution is made through them. With the arrival of the Yahapalana Government, President Maithripala Sirisena can reunite the broken hearts of Sri Lankans who experienced the cruelty of war for a long period of time. He can re-establish a hope in the minds of the people in the North and East, who were brutally tortured for the past 30 years. The international image he has already got is significant.

“Today the country has already entered a rapid development procedure, which can fulfil public needs to its best. Development projects in the East are being successfully carried out. The project carried out by the Ministry of Provincial Councils and Local Government to uplift the services rendered by local authorities in the East has allocated Rs. 6,500 million for development procedures in the area. Rs. 300 million has been spent for resettlement in Sampur.
