Rajah Mahinda Nanayakkara passes away

Business leader Rajah Mahinda Nanayakkara passed away on 22 March. At the time of his demise, he was the Chairman of the LOLC Group. 

R.M. Nanayakkara was appointed Chairman of LOLC on 25 August 2015.  He was the proprietor of Ishara Traders Ltd., a business 02which pioneered the import and sale of new and reconditioned motor vehicles. Thirty years later, this organisation remains an industry leader. 

He was also the Founder Chairman of the Motor Vehicle Importers Association of Sri Lanka, where he continued to play a significant role.  

Nanayakkara was also the Chairman of Ishara Plantations Ltd., an award winning estate of tea and spices, and Chairman of Ishara Property Development, a company which has been involved in construction for the past 18 years.

Nanayakkara also served on the Board of Brown & Company PLC, as well as Browns Investments PLC.

He was 77 years old at the time of death.
