Commercial Credit & Finance enters final

Commercial Credit & Finance “B” ended Nations Trust Bank’s “A” unbeaten run as they beat them convincingly by 59 runs and advanced to the Final of the 06th “BMW/Hyundai” Trophy – MCA “C” division 50 over League Tournament 2017, in the top half Semi Final, played at the MCA Grounds recently.

It was sweet revenge for Commercial Credit & Finance “B” as unbeaten NTB “A” – League stage Group Leader, with 05 wins in row, had beaten them in their league stage outing, by 02 wickets on 8 January at De Soysa Park, Moratuwa. 

Commercial Credit “B” ended in 3rd place in their Group, behind NTB “A” & LB Finance “B”; they beat Peoples Leasing Co. by 70 runs in the Quarter finals. 

Commercial Credit & Finance “B” owe their upset win to their opening batsman, Visal Senanayake, who carried his bat out after a valliant 100 not out in 123 balls, hitting 12 fours and their opening bowler, Suranga Salinda, who made early inroads into the NTB Batting and finished with very impressive figures of 9/1/38/5.

Commercial Credit & Finance “B” will meet Standard Chartered in the Final on Saturday, 25 February at the MCA Grounds, commencing 10 a.m.

Standard Chartered Bank enters final

A well-compiled, patient century by Charith Hathurusinghe (109 in 140 balls, inclusive of 02 sixes and 13 fours) carried Standard Chartered Bank into the final of the 06th Prestige Automobile sponsored “BMW/Hyundai” Trophy – MCA “C” division 50-Over League tournament 2017. 

Standard Chartered beat debutants DHT Cement by 46-runs in the D&L method in the bottom half Semi-Final played at the MCA grounds last Saturday. 

Hathurusinghe was associated in 119 runs partnership with S. Siriratne (40) for the 4th wicket in 138 balls.

Standard Chartered will meet Commercial Leasing & Finance “B” in the Final on Saturday, 25 February at the MCA Grounds, commencing 10 a.m.
