National Integration and Reconciliation Week observed in Royal College with participation of Chandri

59President Maithripala Sirisena as the Minister of National Integration and Reconciliation, declared the national integration and reconciliation week from 8 to 14 January every year from 2017, with the approval of Cabinet of Ministers. 

All schools were requested to give importance to the unity, harmony, national integration and reconciliation by commitment to the declaration on national integration and reconciliation issued by the Ministry of National Integration and Reconciliation. All ministries, departments, and statutory boards were advised to observe the national integration and reconciliation week by pledging to act and work towards the objectives set-out in the declaration.

Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga, Former President and Chairperson, Office of the National Unity and Reconciliation (ONUR), V. Sivagnanasothy, Secretary to the Ministry of National Integration and Reconciliation, Abeyratne, Principal, Royal College,  Mano Tittawela, Secretary General, Secretariat for Coordinating Reconciliation Mechanism and senior officials of the Ministry and ONUR and representatives of UNHCR, GIZ and UNDP participated in the program held at the Navarangagala, Royal College on 9 January 2017 at 9 a.m. Cultural events reflecting the importance of national integration and reconciliation were also demonstrated in this event.61
