Untitled-1Providing local and international students with a 100% Australian qualification, the Colombo Academy of Hospitality Management (CAHM) is in partnership with William Angliss Institute (WAI), Melbourne. Based at the SLIIT campus in Malabe, the Academy is at a fast pace at producing ‘Career Ready’ graduates.

Due to the strong relationships CAHM has maintained with the industry and other prestigious organisations, the students benefit through events held at the Academy as they are able to follow workshops conducted by guest lecturers, and also gather important contacts for their future.

CAHM greatly appreciates the support from Australian High Commission in Colombo and Austrade in organising a Masterclass conducted by Celebrity Chef Adam D’Sylva from Australia on 2 July at the Academy kitchen itself. With his Indian and Italian origins, Chef Adam has established himself as a prominent chef as he is the Head Chef and Owner of two famous restaurants, Coda and Tonka in the heart of the Melbourne City. Coda drives a Vietnamese theme and Tonka a high end Indian theme, two venues he is able to credit his success to.

Chef Adam has been featured on the majority of Australia’s TV networks and makes an appearance at Australia’s best food and wine festivals. Given that he has established himself as one of Australia’s internationally recognised chefs, our students were a part of an exclusive Masterclass. Chef Adam demonstrated on how to prepare two dishes; Black Pepper Crab and an Olive oil poached Ocean Trout with kipfler potatoes and broad beans while touching base on the fundamentals of culinary arts.

Students were greatly educated about his experiences and how he has acquired success in the culinary field as a chef.

To be a part of activities such as these and explore many avenues of success, join the CAHM family. The next intake is in September. Limited spaces available – enrol now! CAHM warmly welcomes you to visit their Academy, and look them up on their website www.cahm.lk, email: [email protected] or contact them via telephone 011 240 7780-2.
