BoCBank of Ceylon has extended its support and contribution towards providing relief aid to devastated flood victims in severely affected areas. The Bank staff voluntarily made donations and rendered help in every possible way to provide relief to the affected. This is part of a timely response to the national crisis that has risen after the heavy torrential rain and massive landslides.

In bringing hope and some relief to those who were affected the bank staff organised relief aid that was transported in six lorry loads on Saturday,21 May (Vesak Poya day) morning and the fleet of vehicles reached the areas of Seethawakapura, Kiriella, Kegalle, Puttalam, and Kaduwela. This relief aid was distributed by Deputy General Managers, Assistant General Managers, Operation Managers, Trade Union members and staff of respective regions to affected people through divisional secretariats.

“This endeavor was not a mere philanthropic contribution from our part. We seek every way that is possible for us to be of some assistance to those who have suffered immensely due to floods. We will continue to provide much comprehensive support for them to re-build their lives once again. With the direction given by the management our staff worked tirelessly during those two days, continuously for 48 hours in their personal capacity to provide some relief to fellow citizens. I very much appreciate the dedication shown by our staff and everyone who joined to complete this crucial task” stated General Manager D.M. Gunasekera.
