Online study packs developed by Guru.lk for candidates taking banking examinations have resulted in pass rates well above the average for non-users; Sri Lanka’s pioneering edutainment website reports.

An impressive 82% of users of the study pack who sat the Intermediate in Applied Banking & Finance (IABF) examination conducted by the Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka (IBSL) in September 2015 achieved passes, the website said.

Guru.lk is the accredited online learning centre for IBSL examinations in Sri Lanka.

In celebration of the success of its students, the website has announced a special offer on online study packs for students progressing on to the Diploma in Applied Banking & Finance (DABF) in March 2016.

Several successful students who wrote in or posted comments about the Guru.lk study packs said they had relied solely on the study packs for success at the examination. They commended the reasonable price of the product compared to other choices available, and comprehensiveness of the study pack, with questions and answers in addition to the standard syllabus content.

Speaking at a felicitation of successful students, Hasitha Dela, CEO of Headstart Ltd. the owner of Guru.lk said: “We believe in offering students an alternative to physical classroom sessions. A typical banking employee has very limited time to prepare for the exam while working. Additionally, many candidates work in the outstations where access to classes is limited. The excellent pass rate of 82% we have achieved proves that online study is indeed a viable choice for any student taking the banking exams.”

Guru.lk’s online study packs are currently available in Sinhala for the IABF and DABF examinations. Students can also opt for a ‘web seminar pack’ which is an online seminar where important topics are discussed as a Q & A session. All participants are directed to the Guru online platform and are given access after their credentials are checked. This is another first by Guru.lk, making world-class technology available for Sri Lanka’s banking examinations.

Guru.lk has more than 100 E Learning courses ranging from courses linked to the school curriculum to professional education, and edutainment content including IT courses, Beauty Culture and even cooking and singing. Users have access to all these courses with the use of a desktop computer, tablet or a smart phone.
