IFS CTO Dan Matthews

IFS South Asia, will be unveiling the latest core version of IFS’s extended enterprise applications suite, IFS Applications 9, at a knowledge forum hosted by the company on 2 September in Colombo.

IFS Chief Technology Officer Dan Matthews will be the lead presenter at the full-day forum, which will also feature presentations by IFS Academy officials, IFS Research and Development specialists, and a panel discussion with key IFS customers and stakeholders.

The event is aimed at showcasing the latest version of IFS Applications, its technology road map, IFS training and certification capabilities, emerging trends in ERP, and IFS’s R&D expertise. Art Television will be providing electronic media sponsorship for the event.

  • IFS Applications 9 includes several innovations in user experience, new features, enhanced configurability, and a new layered application architecture. Some new features include:
  • IFS Lobby—a clear and tailored view of the business or situation as it relates to a role or process. IFS Lobby is fully customisable and presents at-a-glance, actionable information relevant to each unique user. This UI improvement makes IFS Applications 9 easier and faster to use, bringing users closer to their business, no matter whether accessed on a desktop, tablet, or smartphone.

IFS Streams—a notification system designed to keep you close to the pulse of your business by posting relevant updates and actions to processes, relevant to individual users.

  • Layered application architecture—specialised extension and customisation layers that streamline and drive cost out of modifications to the application. Technical staff can now spend more time adding value to your business rather than administering customisations.
  • Embedded CRM—providing truly embedded CRM capabilities, IFS Applications 9 makes business data accessible to the right people at the right time, enabling better decision making and customer service.
  • Enhanced support for global business—new capabilities for group consolidation, improved support for matrix organisations, and a host of other improvements that help global businesses capitalise on their size and reach.

As the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at IFS, Dan Matthews leads the product research and strategy unit. He is responsible for researching, formulating, and communicating the strategic direction for IFS Applications. Owing to his continuous dialogue with IFS’s customers across the globe in various industries, Dan is in a unique position to see new trends in business technology both from the vendors’ and the customers’ points of view.

He was the driving force behind the innovative IFS Enterprise Explorer user interface, aimed at bringing good design and true user productivity to enterprise applications, as well as IFS Touch Apps, which extend the enterprise applications to the user’s smart device. Dan is also a frequent speaker at IFS and industry events.
