With more than 20 foreign university affiliations from UK, Canada, Australia and USA, SLIIT has carved out numerous pathways for students to complete their degree at SLIIT or transfer to the respective partner university after two years of study at SLIIT.

This year, the students and staff from Deakin University Australia volunteered in the Ampara district as part of the ‘Ampara Project’; a Sri Lankan community development partnership. Deakin students were accompanied by Colombo-based colleagues at Deakin partner institutions including two students from SLIIT, the premier degree awarding institute in Sri Lanka. The exposure and learning received throughout this community outreach program is undoubtedly one of the biggest career highlights for both students.

Achala Udakara Illangakoon, one of the participants from SLIIT noted, “Being a part of this volunteering group was a great experience for me. I am grateful to both SLIIT and Deakin University for this opportunity. I was able to meet students from Deakin, interact with foreign lecturers and engage in a good cause.”

With representatives from foreign universities, SLIIT hosts an annual partner university day for prospective students and their parents to witness and understand SLIIT’s academic programs, foreign university partnerships and facilities geared to bring out the best in each student. This year, the annual partner university day will be held on 18 September at the SLIIT Campus in Malabe.
