Gavaskar received his commemorative cap from one-time teammate and fellow Hall of Famer Kapil Dev.
Gavaskar is one of the initial 55 inductees in the Hall of Fame, which was launched in January 2009 in association with the Federation of International Cricketers’ Associations (FICA) as part of the ICC’s Centenary Year.

Organizers of Ironman 70.3 Sri Lanka has announced that Med1 (Pvt) Limited will serve as the Official Emergency Medical Services Partner of Sri Lanka’s inaugural event scheduled for Sunday, February 19.
Med1 will provide all race day, on-location medical coverage for the registered athletes representing 35 countries competing in Sri Lanka’s first ever Ironman 70.3 triathlon.
