The Institute of Sports Medicine is stepping up pressure to minimise and eventually stop the use of banned substances among local sportsmen, which is no longer a rare occurrence in the field of sports.

The hammer price, minus buyer’s premium, was 36,000 pounds, still well above pre-sale estimates of 10-20,000 pounds, said a spokeswoman for Kerry Taylor Auctions which specialises in high-end vintage fashion.

UAE bans Syria flights; Turkey imposes curbs
The United Arab Emirates’ airlines will suspend flights to Syria next week under sanctions imposed by the Arab League, the government of Dubai’s press office said in its Twitter feed on Wednesday.
It gave no further details. The country’s main airlines are Emirates, Etihad Airways and Air Arabia.
Tea exports dip by Rs. 400 m in October
The country’s tea exports dipped for the second consecutive month year-on-year in October, though cumulative performance keeps the industry afloat.
Quantity shipped dipped by 1.35 million kilos to 28.06 million kilos and Rs. 400 million in value terms to Rs. 14.1 billion over 2010 October performance. In September exports volume of 26.1 million kilos was down 10% over a year ago whilst 16% lower over 31 million kilos shipped in August this year. In September exports value was Rs. 13.1 billion, down by Rs. 1 billion over September of last year.
