Luxury lodging company Ritz-Carlton is introducing a new brand platform ‘Let us stay with you’ that aims to create guests for life.
The brand platform, which launches this month, showcases the core service philosophy that makes Ritz Carlton successful with the introduction of an entirely new communications approach, said a senior official.

Egypt, Tunisia tourism recovery seen lengthy

Reuters: TUI Travel, Europe’s biggest tour operator, is on track to meet full-year profit expectations due to strong late summer bookings although it has yet to see a revival in demand for holidays in Egypt and Tunisia, its CEO said.
“We are anticipating a slow recovery in trading to Egypt and Tunisia and have managed our capacity accordingly,” Chief Executive Peter Long said in a statement on Thursday.

RSA appoints Inflow Technologies as international distributor

RSA, the security division of EMC, a global software security company, has appointed Inflow Technologies as its international distributor. Inflow would be distributing its products in Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan and Maldives apart from India. Inflow Technologies has over 400 channel partners across the country, of which over 150 partners has security as their key focus.

Male fans banned at Turkish soccer match

Passionate, loud and colorful — the 41,000 fans who turned up at a soccer match in Turkey on Tuesday seemed like any others at first glance. But a closer look revealed a different kind of crowd. All the spectators were women and children, thanks to a ban on men and teenage boys after game-related violence.

BRUSSELS(AFP): Caught in the shadow of a potential Greek default that has seen investors switch into risk-aversion mode, European banks are back in the hunt for funds to shore up their books.
In a major U-turn, senior EU officials conceded this past week that Europe’s banks need to raise more capital to weather the storm of the eurozone debt crisis.

Fallacy One: The government can fix the external value of a currency at any level it wishes.
Fallacy Two: An appreciated currency is a sign of the strength or the preserved dignity of a country.

Dry bulk ship market ‘to stay weak into 2013’

Reuters: The global dry bulk freight market is expected to stay weak throughout 2012 and into 2013 due to an oversupply of ships, a senior executive of major ship brokerage Braemar Seascope said last week.
The industry has been struggling with a supply glut that has outpaced demand for commodities such as coal and iron ore.
Ship owners went on an ordering spree before economic turmoil in 2008 and have been hit this year by the pace of ship deliveries, which have stepped up in recent months.
