Sri Lanka’s Under 19 Cricket Team this week beat the West Indies by two wickets in a tight contest at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in the opening game of the under-19 Quadrangular series.
DSI recognises effort of the dealers
One hundred top dealers of DSI, the premier footwear brand in Sri Lanka, gained recognition when they were rewarded with a company sponsored trip to Bangkok and Pataya recently. They were the best dealers in terms of school shoe sales for the year 2010/11.

IPTV now serves over 50 m customers globally
The Broadband and IPTV Growth Report presented at the Broadband World Forum in Paris this week, shows that broadband continued to show healthy growth in the first half of 2011.
Prepared for the Broadband Forum by industry analysts Point Topic, the figures reveal the broadband subscriber total at the end of June 2011 is now standing at 557.8 million subscriber lines, up by over 29 m lines since the start of this year.

Reuters: Apple Inc looks set next week to unveil its much-awaited new iPhone, which analysts say will have a bigger screen and work better with remote computing services.
Apple on Tuesday invited media to a “special event” called “Let’s talk iPhone” on Oct. 4 at its Cupertino, California headquarters, an unusual location for a company that typically introduces major products at larger venues in San Francisco.
