The Jetwing Group yesterday officially re-launched Jetwing Blue, Negombo, along with a brand new logo for the Group. The hotel was opened by Economic Minister Basil Rajapaksa at a ceremony held last evening.

Sri Lanka, world’s fifth best in development of ICT sector: ICTA CEO

Sri Lanka ranks fifth in the world in development in the ICT sector, said ICT Agency of Sri Lanka (ICTA) Chief Executive Officer Reshan Dewapura.
Dewapura said so during his address at the launch of the National ICT Workforce Survey 2010 Report cum media conference held in Colombo last Thursday (23).

Sri Lanka, Bahrain sign double tax avoidance and fiscal evasion prevention agreement

An agreement between the Government and the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain for the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of fiscal evasion with respect to taxes on income initialed on 10 December 2009 in Colombo was signed yesterday.

Five 2018 Commonwealth Games bid awareness

The Government has roped in several big guns in the business world to market Sri Lanka’s bid for the 2018 Commonwealth Games.
Five ‘Bid Awareness Sub Committees’ have been set up with mandates to concentrate on different regions – Asia, America and Europe, Oceania, Caribbean and Africa.

COLOMBO (Reuters): Sri Lankan stocks rebounded on Friday from a five-and-half month closing low, snapping a four-session fall on gaining telecom and diversified shares, but concerns over margin calls that forced selling and low liquidity remained.

SLIM yields yet another world-prize winner to CIM
