The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science of the Open University of Sri Lanka is one of the six departments belonging to the Faculty of Natural Science, which offers three disciplines namely Pure Mathematics, Applied Mathematics and Computer Science for the Bachelor of Science Degree programme. China’s foreign financial assets surge by 19% to $4.1 trillion in 2010
BEIJING: China’s offshore financial assets jumped 19 percent on an annual basis to $4.126 trillion at the end of 2010, of which 71 percent are held in reserves, the State Administration of Foreign Exchange ( SAFE )) said on Monday.

Saying that “Asia could account for half of global output, trade, and investment by 2050,” Zhao said Asia should innovate to move away from the traditional, high-resource, high-carbon development path toward sustainable, low carbon growth”.

Oracle eBusiness suite release 12.1.3 helps Commercial Bank
Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC, a premier bank in Sri Lanka has successfully implemented Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.1.3 and Oracle Database 11g running on Oracle Linux to streamline its reporting processes, managing of assets while enhancing productivity and operational efficiency.
The bank opted to deploy Oracle applications in November 2010.
Prior to successfully deploying Oracle applications, a significant amount of work was being done manually which required a lot of effort and time.
Nawaloka Hospitals connects with Mobitel’s mHealth platform
Nawaloka Hospitals PLC in collaboration with the national mobile telecom service provider, Sri Lanka Telecom, Mobitel announced the launch of Sri Lanka’s first mHealth platform capable of delivering medical data over Mobitel network. The mHealth platform was unveiled at the opening of the latest state of the art 3 Tesla MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) scanner installed at Nawaloka Hospital premises by the Prime Minister D. M. Dollar struggles near 2-week lows; stocks steady
HONG KONG (Reuters) – The dollar hovered near a two-week low against a basket of currencies on Monday and Asian stocks were pinned in tight trading ranges as weak U.S. economic data and fears of a Greek debt default kept many investors on the sidelines.
European stocks were also set to dip, tracking weakness in Asia, but trading was expected to be thin with holidays in the United States and the UK.
