Following the purchase of 28% stake for Rs. 4 billion in The Lanka Hospitals Corporation, the Singapore registered Fortis Healthcare Global Holdings has got three seats on the Board.

Employees’ Provident Fund has authority to make investments in the share market, including the banking and financial sector

The attention of the Central Bank has been drawn to recent claims of a spokesman for a certain political party that the Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) does not have the authority to invest in banking and financial sector stocks listed on the Colombo Stock Exchange.

EU executive disagrees with S&P’s Greece downgrade

FRANKFURT: Siemens has unveiled a new management and corporate structure and said it would float light bulb unit Osram, in what amounts to the most radical revamp since 2007 for Europe’s biggest engineering company.

India stifle Pakistan to reach World Cup final

MOHALI, India (AFP) – Disciplined bowling by India saw them beat Pakistan by 29 runs on Wednesday to set-up a World Cup final against Sri Lanka in Mumbai on Saturday.
Pakistan, chasing 261 for victory, were dismissed for 231 with a ball to spare after all of India's five bowlers took two wickets apiece.
