Economists list U.S. budget deficit as No. 1 worry

WASHINGTON  (Reuters) – The massive U.S. budget deficit is the gravest threat facing the economy, topping high unemployment and the risk of inflation or deflation, according to a survey of forecasters released on Monday.
The National Association for Business Economics said its 47-member panel of forecasters increased its estimate for the 2011 federal deficit to $1.4 trillion from $1.1 trillion in its previous survey in November.

England wicketkeeper Davies announces he is gay

LONDON,  (Reuters) – England wicketkeeper Steven Davies has announced he is gay, saying it was a “massive relief” to speak openly about his sexuality.
Davies told the Daily Telegraph he had told his international colleagues about his sexuality after being called up for the Ashes Tour to Australia starting last year.

After Tunisia’s Jasmine revolution, the Tahrir Square Facebook and Twitter revolution in Egypt, will other dominos fall? What about the sustainability of the changes?
The Egyptians like to say ‘The Nile may bend and turn, but it will never dry up, so also the Tahrir Square revolution.’ Will the popular protests and uprisings sweeping seemingly inexorably through West Asia and North Africa jeopardise the stability of the other authoritarian regimes in the region?

Commercial Bank opens ‘Minicom’ at Katukurunda, Kalutara

The Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC has opened another Supermarket Banking Counter at Katukurunda in Kalutara, increasing its delivery points in Sri Lanka to 189. The new ‘Minicom,’ is housed at the Cargills Food City branch at No 919, Galle Road, Katukurunda.
