Singapore Airlines remained the most awarded airline in 2010, securing prestigious accolades from publications and organisations around the world.
Most of the repeat awards were for categories such as in-flight service and entertainment, food and beverage offerings, ground services, safety and corporate management.
Bluescope Lysaght Lanka signs up Denmark client for major project
Bluescope Lysaght Lanka Pvt. Ltd. has signed a contract with a Denmark client to supply building structure for a major power house project.
The project execution will bring in foreign exchange revenue of over US$ 1 million to the country with the opportunity of employment for over 50 manpower, which includes all skills, varying from high class engineers to welders and fitters. The project is expected to be completed within three months.

Solving a fishy problem

Neighbour India and Sri Lanka are planning on inking a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to protect the fishermen and provide them with diplomatic support, but the community remains impoverished with controversy bobbing just below the surface.

The European Parliament’s Delegation for relations with South Asia, led by Jean Lambert (Greens, European Free Alliance, UK) will visit Sri Lanka from 21 to 25 February 2011 to hold the 6th Inter-parliamentary Meeting with the Sri Lankan Parliament. The parliamentary delegation will be accompanied by the Ambassador of the Delegation of the European Union to Sri Lanka and the Maldives, Bernard Savage and other EU officials.
