Government establishes National Data Committee

AT the interest of the planners, policy makers and other data users of the National Statistical System of the country, the Government of Sri Lanka, with the initiative of Dr. P B Jayasundera, Secretary to the Treasury, has established a National Data Committee to create more productive statistical system to fulfill data needs of users within an acceptable timeframe.

Tokyo Cement celebrates National Tree Planting Day

Certification of appreciation to FCCISL-CHEER for providing vocational training for 500 children of war

FCCISL CHEER project (Chamber-network Engagement in Economic Rehabilitation), a part of the EU-ACAP project funded by the European Union (under its EU-Assistance for Conflict Affected People 2009/2013 Programme) and implemented by OXFAM GB, received a certificate of appreciation from the Commissioner General of Rehabilitation for providing 500 children of war a new lease of life with a vocational training of their choice in a construction industry related field.

Biyagama Hospital reveals new facelift to the community

THE Biyagama Base Hospital has reopened its doors after a structural and interior makeover to improve its service to the community. Thousands of patients who rely upon the facility in the Biyagama area will benefit from the renovations that have addressed areas of the hospital that were in need of urgent repair.
